curse you, ernesto!

I can’t believe it.  My sister and I (+ 40 others) were set to fly out of Houston early Wednesday morning for a glorious 4-day dive trip to Cozumel, Mexico.  Well, thanks to (what will soon-be) hurricane Ernesto, our plans have come to a screeching halt and we had to officially pull the plug this morning.  Looks like the little island of Cozumel will be empty and bracing for the full impact of a storm.  (I hope everyone there is ok — I do actually understand that more than my mini vacation is at risk!) However, I will still be crying in my umbrella-less drink this weekend.  Boo!

  1. Guess what? We were supposed to be on the same flight (if you are on United). We haven’t made a decision yet- still hoping that something changes!

    1. How funny! Yes is was the Wednesday flight. I can’t believe we would have been on the same flight! Well, we went ahead and pulled the plug b/c it was the latest our hotel/resort-place would allow and still give us a refund. I think we lose just one night’s stay (or something). I too was thinking that the storm will probably turn, but as it looks right now, Cozumel will be on the unfortunate side of the storm and we didn’t want to risk being down there w/o power, etc. Dang it!

    2. Curses again!!!! I hope you guys didn’t yet cancel! I can’t believe that it turned. (Of course it turned! — It always turns!) I hate that our hand was forced so early. Maybe you can still have a margarita for me!
