[wood & cement photos, mine | marble photo here]
This weekend while out and about I spotted a repeating pattern. I used to not be a big fan of herringbone, but as of recently I find myself drawn to it. I was particularly impressed with the new exterior facade of our anthropologie. The brass looks like it’s the exact size and shape of the thing you put on a commercial door to push it open. (I’m sure there is a technical name for it, but “flat brass push thingy” will have to work!) A clever combo indeed. The interior of the store had a space with cement floor in said pattern and again I was surprised how much I liked it. I then remembered that I had recently pinned and image of marble herringbone and my conclusion is that in the right space, with the right material, this is a sophisticated pattern that works!
